The Disk Imager

A small Windows program that writes a GameTimeLinux image onto a USB disk, byte for byte, the way dd does — and reads it back to prove it. One file, under 1 MB, nothing installed beside it, all NanoCry's own code.

Try it: write GameTimeEdition to a stick

A pretend run in your browser, with the program's own steps and words. Pick the USB disk, press Write, confirm. No real disk is touched.

PhysicalDrive0 · NVMe SSD (Windows is on it)512 GB
Everything on PhysicalDrive2 is destroyed

Its partitions and every file on them are gone the moment the write starts, and cannot be brought back.

How it keeps you safe

  • Only USB disks are listed unless you ask for the others.
  • A confirm panel names the disk, and nothing starts until you tick Erase.
  • The disk's volumes are locked and dismounted before the first byte is written.
  • After writing, it reads the disk back and compares it with the image.
  • Without administrator rights it can list disks but never write them.

On Linux instead

Any Linux machine can write the image with dd; check the device name twice:

xz -d gtlinux-0.7.7-gameedition-installmedia.img.xz
sudo dd if=gtlinux-0.7.7-gameedition-installmedia.img \
        of=/dev/sdX bs=4M conv=fsync status=progress

The images themselves are made by GameTimeLinux's image maker, gtLinuxMakeImage.sh (targets efi, hybrid, bios, kvm).

The Disk Imager download is on the roadmap, beside the images.
